<jats:p>The COVID-19 epidemic has had an unprecedented impact on the tourism sector. Trained disease detection dogs could be used for non-invasive screening at border entry points to reduce the likelihood of re-introduction of SARS-CoV-2 and limit the need for the self-isolation of all passengers.</jats:p>
