KOROGWE, TANZANIA - A body-blow may soon be delivered to the malaria parasite in Africa - preventing the deaths of thousands of children in very early life - if the latest and definitive research on a vaccine fulfils the promise of earlier data. London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine graduate Dr Samwel Gasese of the Tanzanian National Institute For Medical Research laboratories and the Magunga Hospital in Korogwe gave Sarah Maxwell the latest news about the progress of this first vaccine capable of protecting against a parasitic disease.
